Croscarmellose Sodium

Croscarmellose sodium, also known as modified cellulose gum, is made from natural cellulose obtained from cotton (Gossypium) linters (the fuzz that adheres to cottonseeds). The cellulose is modified through a number of processes to form an absorbent gum.

Functionality

Croscarmellose sodium is used to bind tablet ingredients together and assist with the disintegration of tablets by helping them to break apart when in contact with the fluid environment of the digestive tract.
