Why was this study done?

The aim of the present study is to compare cardiometabolic biomarker levels (MARKERS) from a cohort using multiple (2+) dietary supplements manufactured by Shaklee Corporation for 3-5 yr to those from the age-matched MDS users from National Health And Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2007-10.

What did the study find?

Men and women consumed multiple supplements manufactured by Shaklee for 3-5 years had significantly healthier cardiometabolic biomarkers (lower glucose, HbA1c, insulin, total cholesterol (c), LDL-c, Triglycerides, but higher HDL-c in blood; lower Total-c to HDL-c ratio; lower systolic blood pressure; lower Body Mass Index) than age-matched, general US population reported in NHANES 2007-2010.
