Monk Fruit
Monk Fruit (Siraitia grosvenorii), also called Luo han guo or lo han kuo, is native to southern China and northern Thailand. The fruit contains fructose and glucose as well as mogrosides – a group of triterpene glycosides (saponins) and vitamin C. Mogrosides enhance the sweetness of the fruit. The fruit extract is 300 times sweeter than sugar.
Functionality
Monk Fruit is used as a natural non-caloric sweetener.
