Erythritol

Erythritol, like xylitol, is a naturally occurring compound known as a sugar alcohol (or polyol) that is used as a low/no-calorie sweetener. It occurs naturally in some fruits and vegetables and can also be produced by fermentation. It is about 70% as sweet as sucrose but contains less than 6% of the calories of sucrose; it does not influence insulin or blood sugar levels and does not contribute to tooth decay (1). It has been safely used around the world for the last 30 years.
