Hydroxypropyl cellulose is made from natural cellulose obtained from plants. The natural cellulose is then modified to form a gum or gel-like material (modified cellulose).

Functionality

Hydroxypropyl cellulose serves as an excellent means of binding tablet ingredients together. It is used as a part of tablet coating system to help ease tablet swallowability.
