Why was this study done?
To determine the effects of a traditional Japanese (Kempo) formula, EH0202 (which includes pumpkin seeds (Cucurbita moschata), plantain seeds (Plantago asiatica), Japanese honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica), and safflower (Carthamus tinctorius)) on the immune and endocrine systems of women.
What did the study find?
There was a significant increase in granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (a component of the immune system) and a reduction in follicle-stimulating hormone (a hormone that is part of a woman’s monthly cycle) in women supplemented with EH0202.
A pilot study of a Kampo formula, EH0202, with intriguing results for menopausal symptoms.
