Ulcerative colitis is a disease where anti-inflammatory molecules are a mainstay of treatment. This study investigated whether resveratrol would improve the quality of life of 50 patients with active ulcerative colitis. After six weeks supplementation with 500 mg of resveratrol, significant reductions in TNF-alfa, CRP, NF-kappaB (all measures of inflammation) was measured, along with improved self-evaluated measures of the disease.
