Beet Powder/Red Beetroot Powder

Natural beet powder is made by spray-drying the juice of red beets (Beta vulgaris) onto maltodextrin (see Maltodextrin). As a natural source of the red pigment betanin, beet powder serves as a natural vegetable color.

Health Benefits

The betalanins in Red Beetroot may have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties by reducing oxidative and nitrosative stress on cells.1,2 Betalanins may also promote phase 2 enzymes (detoxifying enzymes in the liver) and thus protect the liver from damage.3,4 Red beetroot also contains high amounts of nitrate, which may aid in reducing blood pressure, improving endothelial function, and increasing aerobic exercise capacity.1,5-16 Red beetroot can also be used for a natural red food coloring.
