Sorbitol

Sorbitol is a naturally sweet compound present in a variety of plants, including fruits such as ripe berries, cherries, and apples. It is also found in seaweeds and algae. Sorbitol is commercially produced by the hydrogenation of dextrose syrup. It can be concentrated into a liquid form or further concentrated and crystallized into a powder form.
